When examining or treating patients, medical staff often wear medical gloves. The purpose is to isolate and prevent the spread of bacteria, protect the health and care of hands and the health of medical staff, and establish a good protective barrier between doctors and patients. So what should be paid attention to when using disposable medical gloves?

Disposable medical gloves

1. The role of contact dermatitis. This is the most common situation. Usually, its main feature is redness, itching, dryness or cracking of the skin on the hands. The reason is to wash your hands repeatedly with soap and detergent, and then wipe them thoroughly. The inside of the hand will be impermeable, causing this effect. Gloves may be caused by the action of talc in gloves.

In this case, the solution is: wash your hands with soap or detergent before washing, dry them together, and wear gloves. For dry gloves, the internal talcum powder should not be too much. These measures can prevent the onset of dermatitis. Once the outbreak affects dermatitis, do not scrape or use anti-calcium agents, such as catastrophic lotions, as the symptoms will disappear quickly.

2. Allergic contact dermatitis. It is characterized by dry, cracked or itchy hands and skin, and erythema or watermarks usually appear after 6 to 48 hours of contact with latex gloves. Usually, there are no obvious symptoms of systemic allergy. It may be allergic to certain chemicals in latex gloves or chemicals attached to the body of the glove, resulting in delayed allergic reactions.

In this case, the treatment is to use another latex glove and continue to use it. In order to prevent severe allergic reactions, it is recommended to use less or less. Once allergic contact dermatitis occurs, oral antihistamines are required. Dermatitis makes the hands flat and the symptoms relieve quickly.

3. Latex allergy. Very rare. Redness and itching may occur within a few to ten minutes after wearing gloves. Symptoms can be seen throughout the body, usually accompanied by rubella, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, chest tightness and heart disease. In severe cases, breathing difficulties, tachycardia, blood pressure drop, anaphylactic shock, and sudden death may occur.

At this time, the situation is very urgent. The latex glove manufacturer recommends that you quickly take off your gloves, wash your hands repeatedly with fragrant salt, and then go to the hospital for treatment. People who are allergic to latex should avoid contact with latex gloves and other latex products again.
